We said " I do " again

At first I thought staying here in Mex will let me post more stories ( because of the new culture and environment) and even shed some pounds ( because I will not be eating rice in a daily basis) but omg!What happened to me? I was like 98.99% gone here and gained like 10 more pounds (loser much! lol).
My bad! I'm so sorry folks but I really dunno what's in here that made me too lazy while the wifi connection is in full bar...What happened in the passed 8 months of laziness? Well....

I arrived, met Alan's family and friends,enjoyed Mexican foods,drank tequila and corona until my liver was about to scream, got tanned by the hell-like summer in Sonoran desert, got frozen by the 1 digit something degree celsius temperature during the winter, etc.....etc....

But you know what's the best part of what happened here?

These.... :D *giggles*

PS. I will keep you hanging for a while if you are waiting for a more detailed stories about our weddings ... Yup! until we are done with our fourth, so please just watch out for that ;) .

On the 12th day of Christmas

In the past years, January 6 normally reminds me of the Three Kings day that means it's the last day of christmas and you can start hiding the christmas tree back to the store room, it's my cousin's birthday too (Ate Ría) and it's the same date when I last spoke to my dad before he passed away 14 years back .....but now there's another thing that will remind me of this day....the Rosca de Reyes bread... :D

Let me share to you this Mexican tradition i just met....

During the era of the kings of France, bread was filled with a lima bean, and the person who found it in his bread would receive the gift that His Highness had prepared for the event. The idea was to place a lima bean in the bread dough, which was usually filled with fruits like dates and raisins, and this bread was shared around the time of the New Year festivities.

The tradition changed a bit when it arrived to the Americas, transforming itself according to the customs and resources of our country, where it eventually became the rosca. Here the rosca is decorated with pieces of orange and lime, and is filled with nuts, figs, and cherries. Hot chocolate accompanies the rosca.

So every year, on January 6, families all across Mexico gather around their tables to share the rosca de reyes. And now, instead of finding a lima bean in the bread, a little plastic doll representing Jesus is placed in the bread. The person who receives a piece of bread with this doll inside has to make the tamales used in the fiesta de la Candelaria on February 2. This celebration is the last of the Christmas festivities, 40 days after Jesus's birth.

And of course we had rosca today and guess what? I've got a little plastic doll inside my rosca...They said it's good luck if you find one cause it's like you have the baby Jesús with you...Now that I've got good luck I guess I need to learn how to make tamales so I will be ready for February 2. :D It's so nice to know new tradition....it's like standing in the same position and seeing different views in every direction you look....Happy Three Kings everyone!

When I hear the word desert ....a picture of cactus always comes into my mind...And because Hub's place is a desert I always wanted us to have a couple photo with the cacti field as our backdrop. Since, we don't have enough time to plan and all we decided to ask a 16 years old photography hobbyist nephew of  Alan if he can do it for us.We are so glad when he said Yes right away :D

Hola folks!I'm back!
Pardon me for being MIA  for a long time....It's just so difficult for me to update while adjusting in this land with different zip code..I dunno why actually ..Maybe because it's like a 360 degrees turn of my life....A lot of changes, a lot of stories to tell.....For more than 3 months it's kind of difficult to update....But lemme try...

Mexico bound

Hola folks! Guess what!?
You're right! Finally after 48 years I got my Mexican visa already! yey! And yes I'm Mexico bound soon.....*happiness*

The only thing that is really hard for me to do  now is packing light....>_< ....I've been traveling in and out of the country for more than 7 years now and still not acquiring my masteral degree in packing!...Sigh*

At the moment I can't start packing my stuffs yet...why???because my pasalubong are not yet complete and look at how it occupies my suitcase space...
